About a Boy

Kids are Cruel

Image result for childrenKids in today's world are so cruel. Most people think that children are the most sweet and innocent people to ever deal with, but they are so wrong at the same time. Behind the scenes, kids cause parents the most stress whenever everyone else isn't there to see it. How do I know? I was a kid once who did the same thing. I have caused my parents to snap on me and my brother because of me and him arguing over something we shouldn't have been fighting ab`out. At the end of the day, kids just stress parents out. Kids are a blessing to have but can cause so many problems for parents if they aren't disciplined the right way. As my generation grows, the younger ones are becoming more spoiled over time. There are now kids who are receiving cell phones at a younger and younger age. They expect everything from their parents, and the parents just keep giving in. Not much of the younger generation has any manners either. A lot of them don't even know how to say thank you to their parents for buying them something for certain holidays or just because they can. Overall, children cause more problems for adults but adults don't do anything about it. There are a lot of adults who complain about this problem but don't take the time to discipline their children and fix the problem.

Page 3: Mike had friends to keep him company in the ceiling, and ? had no friends to keep her company on the cave floor.

Page 4: Mike and ? were lonely.

Page 5: They longed to talk to one another, but they were too far away.

Page 7: After millions and millions of years Mike and ? were so close they could finally meet.

Page 8: And maybe they would each have a new friend.

Bailey this is a wonderful idea! I'm trying to help you think of names for the other stalagmites and tites but I cant think of one that rhymes fairly well together. However, this story is great! Where are you wanting to end up with it? I could see them meeting and becoming friends, that would be cute! Also, just another idea, if they meet and become friends they should try to see if they can friends around them as well! Awesome story!

Morgan does not have her story posted at this time

Naners the Chunky Monkey

It was always a routine, to have a banana to start the day.
Naners would sit on his favorite branch, sometimes he would even lay.
One day was different, he looked down at himself and turned into a state of shock.
"I've eaten to much!" He exclaimed and began to run around the block.
He came across an ice cream stand
The ice cream man said "Hi, what brand?"
He thought and he thought

(I kind of want to direct this story to not being self conscious and enjoying who you are in your body. I want Naners to make his own ice cream type called "Chunky Monkey" but I am open to any other awesome ideas!)

To Track a Yak

Image result for to track a yak childrens book

To Track a Yack is a children's book written by Tony Johnston. Johnston interestingly had no authors bio or information about him in the front or back cover of the book. However, the book was very kid friendly and had a great story line for a child to follow along. On the cover of the book, there is a yak that is standing in the middle of some white space and simply eating grass. There is 36 pages throughout the book that tells the story about a struggling family. The child of the family will not eat anything because he has no baby friendly food. His father ultimately sets out on a journey to help his child eat by listening to the orders of a witch to capture a yak for her.

Childhood Questions

5. When I was a child, my family did a lot of different activities for fun. Movies were a big part of my childhood that built towards a passion I still obtain today. The summer time is mainly a big time for movie watching for me and my brother. Our mother would take us to go see at least 3 movies a month at the local theater, Wehrenberg. I vaguely remember watching TMNT (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles) and instantly thinking it was one of the best movies I have ever seen. It wasn't enjoyable just for me, but I am sure the rest of my family enjoyed the same experience as I did.

12. I didn't have any serious ailments or injuries as a child until I reached my early teen years. I still count this as my childhood years because of how serious it ended up being at the time. I was pitching in one of my baseball games and doing a fairly good job this particular game. It was about midway into the game before I took a baseball to the eye off of a batted ball. At the time, I couldn't comprehend anything because the ball came so quick, and the next thing I knew, I was in my dad's truck riding to the hospital. Turns out, the ball struck my face a couple of centimeters below my orbital bone. My doctor said I was lucky because if it hit my orbital bone, there was a good chance it would've broken and given me a larger impairment on my eyesight. Currently in my right eye, my vision is a little weak compared to my left eye. Since I have contacts, my right eye prescription is a little more heavier now.

15. I didn't necessarily have a specific favorite game as a child. However, I had a Playstation 2 gaming system I used to play all the time with a variety of different games. Anything from sports to fantasy and fictional games, I played everything they had to offer. I remember going to a store just down the road from my house to buy all of my games. It was essentially a better version of a Vintage Stock that always had good deals for the highest quality. I did other things besides gaming on a throwback console, but it was just so rememberable with how dear it was to my heart. So many good experiences and days were spent doing what I loved doing at the time.

Inspired by Nighthawks

Every time I look at the painting Nighthawks, I can't help but put myself in one of the people's shoes sitting in the diner. Everyone has their own story in our life. There are so many different scenarios and lifestyles around us constantly, which we think little of. Putting myself in these people's shoes, I feel a sense of awkwardness. It seems it's late at night, perhaps after a night at work between all three of the customers. The diner might be a destination that is quick and easy before hitting the bed at their living places. Or they could all be regulars, and go to the establishment on a daily or weekly basis. The possibilities are essentially endless. There are so many unique stories in this world that could keep a mass of people interested for a lifetime. Being human, being interested in another's story always seems like a normality. Very rarely we pass up an opportunity to learn about someone as long as we are interested in listening. This painting pushes my desire to explore stories of the people who want to share their lives. You can never tell where a person comes from or what it took to get to the present moment. That's why certain stories are so interesting, to compare your lives and see what each other's problems are in the long run. The waiter in this painting represents that people who listen to these stories. I can only imagine what he is thinking while listening to all of these different personalities and stories. I highly doubt that the waiter in this story says anything in response however. Since these stories might be so in depth and deep, he might not have any place to say anything, kind of like most people in today's world.

Window Poem

Looking outside upon my fathers fresh cut lawn.

The green grass radiating brightness and that fresh cut smell.

My friends playing football in the yard.

Mother calling us all in for dinner as the sun sets.

It seemed like paradise at the time, but then we all grew up.

Inspired by Friedrich

The storm was brewing on a cheery day

What was a warm and delightful day, turns dull

Thunder and lightning crackle across the sky

The infinite amount of noise entertains viewers

Although enjoyments is brought, so is fear

As many believe a god is after their very being

Many consider it revenge, but is the opposite

Signs of growth and also necessary for survival

One of the most threatening events brings a necessity of life; water

Many still fear for their very lives and shake when they hear the legendary boom of lightning

The setting of the sun creates a smile on many faces

The distant but touching ruins stand strong as ever

Ivy grows over the enchanted land that was fought on

Even though there is a sense off loss, there is thankfulness

Forgiveness remains, even in the toughest of times

Greediness still looms in the distance, far away

The pillars still stand tall, once a time they were white

It was believed the gods of the greeks stood here

Massive thrones and various weapons lined the halls

Then it was taken by a great evil that was destroyed by the returning good and peace remained

Caspar David Friedrich

Caspar David Friedrich was born of September 5th, 1774 in Griefswald, Sweden. He grew up in a fairly large family with his brothers and sisters along with his parents. He spent most of his time at home outside of school where he received a strict education from protestants in his hometown. Caspar was raised by his candle making father, Adolph Friedrich, and his mother, Sophie Friedrich.

Caroline Bommer was there to support Friedrich through his entire early career and saw all of his early works as an artist. These two later got married and would spend the rest of their lives together. Phillipp Otto Runge was also there to support Friedrich as a friend early on and saw some of his best work from a front seat view. They were really close friends and were for a majority of their lifetimes.
His main medium he worked with during his career was oil. All of his landscape pieces had a mass amount of oil used and a majority of his overall work was based on it as well. Friedrich was associated in the Romanticism era and created art during this time period. One of his most famous paintings, The Tetschen Altar, was also one of his most famous works in his career. This painting was also based around oil and was inspired by a personal favorite view.
As his life wound down and he became more elder and unhealthy, he started losing his beloved personality. Most of his friends could not recognize him without his outgoing personality and organization. Caspar David Friedrich grew elder and died naturally on May 7, 1840. Being an unrecognized artist, Friedrich isn't as popular as Van Gough or others. However, he paved the way for landscaping portraits for artists in the future.
